This week I found myself in Kingston for a double house shoot for Gordon Estate Services, a shoot which turned out to be very interesting.
People often ask me why bother with aerial images? These two properties are perfect examples of why aerials are a good idea if you want to maximize interest in a property you are selling.
While nicely composed, this property already looks better than a lot of real estate images – but would you click for more info?

Saturday was grey, cloudy and fairly windy as my Studio in Prince Edward County experienced the very edges (see 1:20 in this NASA video) of what was by now Tropical Storm Irene.
As often happens here, a few moments before the sun slipped below the horizon, a blast of setting sun turned the whole sky into a kaleidoscope of colour, although I have to say subtle differences in the cloud structure made this particually spectacular.

If you’ve been to downtown Picton recently you’ll find a couple of my images printed really big, forming an art installation at the Picton BIA’s new Shoppers Parkette – See County Live Report.
These look fabulous, especially considering they are from the mast or hanging out the side of a helicopter – yes I love my gyro!!
Recently I’ve been falling in love with the really high end ‘matt’ fine art papers. These are beautiful but much more difficult to work with than many of the lustre papers as they tend to suck a lot of ink, have limited ‘dmax’ and flatten all the detail.
However after many hours and lots of test prints I’ve not only mastered a lot of the techniques to make saturated colour images pop on this paper, but blended a particular mix of various things to come up with a new look that has a really delicate almost plate etching feel.
Sadly the web only skims the detail, but I’ll have many of my PEC and Picton images converted to this look on display and available at the PEC Studio Tour.
What’s more important is that many of these will be open edition prints (Still numbered and logged) at exciting Studio Tour price points – 20x14in on Hahnemuhle Museum Etching being just $100 including the HST ! This makes them perfect gifts, although you might want to treat yourself too!
Smaller and Larger sizes available and I can take orders for size image combinations that are not available over the tour weekend.
Tally Ho,
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be a SeaGull, check this photo I took during a recent Polepics Camera System assignment at the Wellington Arena.

Tally Ho,
So the request was simple, could I create some cool photos of the Wellington Arena from the Polepics mast at Dusk.
Well here we are, as far as I know I’m one of the only photo mast operators – worldwide – that can successfully create large print potential images from a mast in twilight and even at night.
