Photography that's head and shoulders above the rest
Sandbanks Provincial Park – Resident Artist 2009.
Today Polepics learnt of some very exciting news. Steven Draper, Polepics CEO and Founder has been successful in achieving the title and role of Sandbanks Provincial Park, Resident Artist 2009. This honorary position will see Steven and his Polepics aerial photography mast system, along with his conventional photography techniques engaged in a Summer of photographic activities at the Park. Previous holders of this position include County artist ‘Mia Lane’ who’s depiction of wildlife is seen on Canadian Postage stamps.
“Like Never Before”
“I hope to show many of the 500,000 annual visitors to Sandbanks this amazing place like never before; I want to take them into the trees and show them the world from the perspective of the birds. Photography is a great way to open your eyes to the beauty that is around, and by discussing my passion, technique and view of the world with visitors I hope that they’ll see and appreciate the world around them even more.” [SD]

Steven’s image PolePics One, shown above, captures the view across the tree tops at Sandbanks and was the first picture taken from the Polepics mast system. It and recently featured in a local gallery exhibition, Equinox, along with another 12 of his images.
