Steven Draper, Polepics founder / CEO has just won a major photography award.
We’re very excited here in the Polepics mission control centre with this great news. Although not directly related to aerial photography is just so exciting we’re posting it here anyway. And if you keep reading you you’ll see the winning image!
The Doug Boult Award is presented for outstanding photography at the 16th Art in The County exhibition, held each year in Picton, Prince Edward County.
Each year about 200 items of art from a variety of media are submitted for a juried show in Prince Edward County. About half of the pieces make it into the show with just 5 Jurors awards being presented , one of which Steven won at his first attempt in 2008 with a photograph called ‘Natural Support.’
Born in England during 1925, The late Doug Boult was one of Canada’s most successful photographers, runner up in the Canada’s best photographer competition several times, and also editor- in-chief of Camera Canada magazine from 1997 - 2003.
I’m always living part of my life through a viewfinder
” To win this award is a real honour for me. Whether I’m operating with the pole system, or just enjoying a day out with the family, I’m always living part of my life through a viewfinder, looking for the best angle, special light and the right moment to press the shutter.”[SD]
