Prince Edward County is one of those places where local produce means knowing the farmer, their farm and actually seeing the vegetables and livestock grow. When it rains we all celebrate because we know our growing food needs it.

For the past couple of years there has been a celebration of local food, with what is known as the Harvestin supper. It started off with a few hundred people, but now 1200 people come out to enjoy local corn on the cob, a slice of beef and other local delights,  in one big street party.

But how do you photograph an event like this. Last year a fire truck with a long ladder was called in; but few people were brave enough to climb the wobbling structure, and judging by the lack of images, perhaps even fewer could actually let go of the handrails in order operate their cameras.

This year, Polepics was  commissioned to provide our unique angle on the event without scaring anyone. Of course  the ground the camera control is all carried out using our computer interface from the comfort of our truck, while the camera sits firmly attached to the top of our custom made pole. In fact we even sampled the local food in between taking pictures and explaining to onlookers what we were doing.
